As part of its ongoing efforts, in cooperation and coordination with the National Anti-Money laundering and Terrorism Financing Committee(NAMLC), to support the implementation of the objectives of Qatar’s National Strategy for Combating Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing, and Proliferation Financing, the Qatar Financial Information Unit (QFIU) held the 15th Financial Information Unit Public-Private Dialogue Forum from 22 to 24 June 2026 via the Zoom platform, with broad participation from supervisory authorities and representatives of the public and private sectors.
The Forum brought together 612 participants, including representatives of reporting entities, supervisory authorities, the Secretariat of the NAMLC, as well as representatives of financial institutions and designated non-financial businesses and professions (DNFBPs).
The Forum comprised three specialized sessions covering the financial sector supervised by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) and the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA), the securities sector supervised by the Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), and the DNFBP sector supervised by the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA).
Participants attended a series of specialized presentations and interactive discussions. QFIU delivered presentations on geopolitical risk guidance, emerging trends and typologies related to suspicious activities through practical case studies, and key suspicious indicators within the DNFBP sector. The sessions also addressed recent developments relating to terrorist financing and proliferation financing, analyses of market trends and customer behavior across various sectors, and key technical aspects of suspicious transaction reporting from the perspective of reporting entities.
The Forum also provided an interactive platform for dialogue and the exchange of views and expertise among participating stakeholders, contributing to stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors, enhanced awareness of emerging risks and threats, and improved quality of suspicious transaction reporting. These efforts support the continued effectiveness of Qatar’s national framework for combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing.
