The Qatar Financial Information Unit (QFIU) participated in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Plenary and Working Group Meetings held in Paris, France, from 15 to 19 June 2026, with the participation of representatives from FATF member jurisdictions, regional bodies, and international organizations.
On the sidelines of the meetings, QFIU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC). The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation and facilitate the exchange of financial intelligence and information in accordance with the respective legal frameworks of both parties, thereby supporting efforts to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and related predicate offences.
The signing of the MoU represents a further step in expanding QFIU’s international cooperation network and enhancing collaboration with counterpart financial intelligence units worldwide.
