Training Course on “Virtual Assets Transactions Tracing and Investigations – Crypto Assets Fundamentals and Investigation”

A specialized training course on “Virtual Assets Transactions Tracing and Investigations – Crypto Assets Fundamentals and Investigation “was held at QFIU’s premises from 10 to 13 November 2025, in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The four-day course delivered a comprehensive introduction to the core concepts of crypto assets and the methodologies used to trace their origin in the context of investigation. It also covered the different types of digital evidence associated with these assets and the techniques for analyzing and managing such evidence. In addition, participants were introduced to blockchain networks and their role in tracing digital-currency transactions, with practical explanations of key tracing principles and metadata analysis using open-source tools.

The program included hands-on exercises and applied case work, followed aimed at strengthening participants’ practical understanding and reinforcing the skills acquired throughout the training.
The course brought together experts and specialists from both sides, underscoring the importance of enhancing national capabilities and expanding knowledge in the field of virtual-asset tracking and related investigative methodologies.
