As part of QFIU’s endeavour to raise awareness and provide practical experiences to the leading academic educational institutions in the State of Qatar, the QFIU represented by Mr. Mohammed Nasser Al Yafei, Director of the Analysis Department, and Mr. Mohammed Dendar, expert at QFIU, participated in the lecture organized by the Northumbria University on the “Experience in Combating Money Laundering, Proceeds of Crime and Legal Implications” on November3, 2021., where The lecturers tackled a number of topics, including the role of QFIU in combating money laundering and terrorism financing in the State of Qatar, the relevant regulating legislative framework, and some case studies.
Mr. Mohammed Al Yafei highlighted during his lecture that reflecting national practical experiences contributes to enhancing the students’ understanding of money laundering and terrorism financing crimes, and promoting their specialized national expertise comparing to the British study material within their curriculum.
