QFIU organized the “Fifth Forum of the Public-Private Dialogue” on 11-12 October 2020, where virtual sessions were held with all the reporting entities from the financial private sector, such as financial institutions under the supervision of Qatar Central Bank (QCB), Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA), and Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), in addition to representatives from the NPOs Sector under the supervision of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), and representatives from the National Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Committee (NAMLC).
During this forum, which was distinguished by the active participation and interaction of the attendees, many topics were tackled, namely the main patterns and trends related to reporting suspicious transactions. The supervisory authorities presented their views on the reporting process. The Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) also highlighted in its presentation the sectoral assessment of the NPOs in order to raise their awareness about the crucial matters identified by RACA.
The Private Sector representatives also delivered presentations about their experiences in using the new electronic reporting system (ESTR) of the QFIU and the relevant data available, in addition to success stories and the lenges faced.
